This interior design by Mila Design showcases a masterclass in "Soft Industrial" aesthetics, where the raw, architectural bones of the space are elevated by high-end finishes and luxurious textures. The design team has curated an environment that feels both expansive and intimate through a disciplined material palette.

The Foundation: Microcement Artistry

The soul of the project lies in the Microcement (Microcimento) flooring. This seamless, hand-applied finish provides a continuous, velvet-grey canvas that stretches across the entire apartment. It offers the cool, edgy look of an industrial loft but with a refined, tactile warmth that traditional poured concrete lacks. By eliminating grout lines, Mila Design has maximized the sense of spatial volume, allowing the furniture to "float" within the room.

The Kitchen: Industrial Meets High-Gloss Luxury

The kitchen serves as the centerpiece of the open-plan living area, demonstrating a sophisticated contrast in textures:

• The Cabinets: stunning mixture of matte charcoal lower units and high-gloss white uppers creates a visual weight play. The reflective sheen of the upper cabinetry bounces natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, injecting a sense of "Penthouse Luxury" into the functional space.

• The Island & Countertops: Crisp, white solid-surface countertops provide a clinical, sharp edge that defines the kitchen's geometry against the more organic textures of the home.

• The Live-Edge Statement: In a brilliant move to soften the industrial rigor, a massive dark wood live-edge table is integrated directly into the kitchen island. This raw, organic timber introduces a biophilic element that grounds the space and serves as a warm counterpoint to the cool microcement.

Living & Bedroom: Curated Elegance

The elegance of the design is further realized through the furniture and lighting choices:

• Textural Layering: In the living area, a supple black leather sofa sits atop a multi-tonal, striped hide rug. This layering of leather and hide over the microcement floor adds depth and comfort without clutter.

• Architectural Lighting: The team utilized recessed square spotlights and sleek, geometric wall sconces to create "pools" of light. This highlights the vertical surfaces—like the grey accent walls—and adds a dramatic, gallery-like atmosphere.

• Reflective Depth: In the bedroom, the use of large-scale smoked glass or mirrored wardrobe panels creates an illusion of endless space, reflecting the soft textures of the bedding and the crisp white architectural lines.

The Verdict

Mila Design has achieved a rare balance: the apartment feels architectural and disciplined yet remains inviting and plush. By pairing the ruggedness of microcement and live-edge wood with the polished elegance of luxury cabinetry and mid-century inspired furniture (like the Eames-style dining chairs), the team has created a timeless, sophisticated sanctuary.
